What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for an inspiring Finance Transactional Team Leader who possesses:
Education/Qualifications:
- AAT part-qualified or equivalent experience (Desirable).
- 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including Maths and English (Essential).
Experience:
- Practical experience in a finance environment (Essential).
- Experience in a school, academy, or education setting (Desirable).
- Knowledge of financial procedures, controls, and legislation (Essential).
- Experience in suggesting and implementing improvements (Essential).
Skills:
- Line management or supervisory experience (Essential).
- Strong organisational, time management, and prioritisation skills (Essential).
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills (Essential).
- High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment (Essential).
- Proficient in Excel, financial accounting systems, and education cashless payment systems (Desirable).
Behaviours:

Your Role in Building Brighter Futures
As a Finance Transactional Team Leader at Futura Learning Partnership,you will play a key role in contributing to the delivery of Futura’s mission statement of “Building the brightest future for all, enabling every individual to flourish”. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about living our values and making a positive impact on all the young people in our Trust.
As a Finance Transactional Team Leader you will be responsible to:
- Lead and manage a team of Finance Assistants, handling performance and absence management.
- Oversee supplier management, including processing purchase orders, invoices, and payments.
- Manage sales ledger processes, including invoice generation and debt management.
- Process payroll adjustments for additional hours and expenses.
- Handle credit card payments and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate reconciliation of key control accounts (e.g., bank, creditor, debtor).
- Administer the Finance system (PSF), ensuring smooth operations and system improvements.
- Monitor compliance with internal policies, financial controls, and audit requirements.
- Actively manage debt recovery and minimise bad debt risks.
- Support internal and external audits, as well as the integration of new schools into the Trust.
- Propose and implement improvements for efficient financial operations.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, procurement processes, and fraud prevention measures.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects, data analysis, and financial system administration.
- Promote the Trust's values, contribute to safeguarding, and ensure health and safety compliance.
