First Federation Trust, Attendance Officer, 16 hpw, 40 weeks per year job summary

The First Federation Trust is looking for an Attendance Officer, an exciting new position. This position presents a rare opportunity to join our thriving and successful Trust.

The First Federation Trust believes that an aspirational and inspirational education is the right of every child. School is not easy for every child, and missing school can put children off learning, cause anxiety, and make school feel more challenging than it needs to be.

We are looking to appoint an experienced person who can work as part of our data and inclusion teams to support academies and deliver a trust-wide attendance strategy that helps support the achievement of pupils. You will be able to relate well to staff, support the good practice in place and not be afraid to challenge leaders and external partners when necessary.

The ideal candidate will understand the impact poor attendance has on a pupil’s life chances and will be determined to make a difference. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to learn rapidly, adapt your approach to different needs and, above all else, never give up on any child.

Interpreting data is essential to develop strategies to raise the profile of good attendance and support children and families, therefore you will ensure academies statutory responsibilities are met, and support academies to submit external referrals where necessary.

We recognise that our staff are our most important asset and as well as offering a collaborative, friendly and supportive environment, we offer a range of benefits that include:

  • tailored professional and career development pathways, coaching and mentoring.
  • fast-track process to explore new opportunities across the trust family of 21 primary schools.
  • the opportunity to work within a progressive and forward-thinking multi-academy trust.
  • access to a free and confidential employee health and wellbeing programme, providing physical and mental health support in areas such as physiotherapy, counselling, menopause, etc.
  • a local government pension scheme.
  • a tax-free cycle-to-work scheme.

For further details of the responsibilities and requirements of the role, please see the full job description.

The First Federation Trust is committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS clearance. All shortlisted applicants will be subject to an online search.
