The First Federation Trust, a multi academy trust of 20 primary schools across Devon, West Dorset and Plymouth is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, and highly organised Family Support Advisor to join our dedicated team to support a selection of schools in our Trust. The successful candidate will based in either our Plymouth office or Newton Abbot office and will be required to travel to schools across south and mid Devon. We will consider applications for 2 part-time positions.
The successful candidate will work with schools to provide the best possible education for all and remove barriers to learning through supporting vulnerable children throughout the schools so they can flourish. They will signpost and help coordinate the necessary multi agency approach to support and protect children and their families throughout the appropriate safeguarding responses. They will empower parents to help raise their child’s levels of attainment and achievement and ensure that parent-school relationships are as strong as possible, so children come to school ‘ready to learn.’
The successful candidate :
Will proactively
seek ways to remove barriers to learning through supporting vulnerable children
and their families throughout the schools.
Is confident signposting
and coordinating the necessary multi-agency support to enable parents to help
raise their child’s levels of attainment and achievement.
Is confident
leading multi-agency meetings and is familiar with Rights For Children.
Is confident
delivering safeguarding training to colleagues.
Is skilled at
developing relationships with children, parents and staff at all levels and is an
advocate for the relational approach.
Is skilled at
delivering interventions with children.
Will work
effectively with the school team to improve attendance.
Is not phased by
the daily challenge and variety that a busy primary school can present.
