Job summary

We are looking for a passionate and inspiring qualified Food Technology Teacher to join our supportive and talented team at Hanham Woods Academy.

Interview Date: 27 February 2020.

You will be used to planning and consistently delivering high quality lessons, will have experience in delivering the curriculum in your chosen area and will be a strong communicator with the ability to embrace change and motivate colleagues and students. A well-qualified specialist, holding QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree, you will have the ability to teach from KS3-KS4. We look for professional’s who have excellent class management skills and have high expectations of work and behaviour.

•QTS Status
•Have an up to date Food Hygiene certificate or a level 2 food safety in catering accreditation
•Have up to date DATA accreditation

•Ability to use assessment and progress data to drive provision
•A reflective practitioner who consistently seeks to improve their teaching to support learning and accelerate student progress
•Effective communication and interpersonal skills with both adults and children
•Able to work as a member of a high performing team
•Teaching secures good progress over time for students

Experience:
•Secondary School teaching across Key Stage 3 and 4 and the full ability range
•Experience of working with children and young people
•Able to provide examples of the positive impact of your teaching on children’s learning in your application
•Experience of teaching both Food Technology and Product Design (Resistant Materials)
