What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to recruit a Food Technology teacher from 7th May 2024 on a fixed term variable contract 0.6 – 1.0 maternity cover.

ESSENTIAL
Qualifications
- First Degree or equivalent in a food based subject
- QTS
Experience
- Teaching food at KS3 and KS4
- Form tutor experience
Knowledge and Understanding
- Relevant subject knowledge
- Curriculum, teaching strategies and assessment methods for relevant subject(s)
- Outstanding teaching and learning – what it looks like
Abilities and Skills
- Excellent literacy skills
- Excellent ICT skills
- Ability to teach outstanding lessons
- Strong behaviour management
- Ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents, staff, governors and external agencies
- Ability to inspire, challenge, motivate and empower others
- Ability to think creatively to anticipate and solve problems
- Ability to work under pressure, maintaining a sense of perspective
- Ability to manage own time effectively
- Excellent communication skills

Qualifications
- Recent relevant educational training
- Experience in teaching Eduqas Level 1/2 Vocational Award in Hospitality and Catering at KS4
- Experience in more than one school
- Contribution to raising standards
- Coordination of extracurricular activities
- Experience in dealing with parents
Knowledge and Understanding
- Current educational initiatives
- Ability and willingness to teach textiles
- Ability to initiate and develop ideas
