Food Technology Teacher job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring classroom practitioner with a real passion for Catering and Food Technology. We offer an exciting opportunity to enhance an already successful and motivated team, characterised by an ambitious drive for excellence centred on the school’s vision of ‘Success for All through Attainment, Resilience and Autonomy’.

Park Community School has recently been rebuilt. All lessons, across all subjects, are taught in modern facilities within our new school building.

Our Food Technology area includes a conventional practice/theory cooking room and catering room with serving hatch and mini café area, alongside two new workshops. We also have a smallholding ‘farm’ to help children learn from and about the land and animals, which could lead to our Catering and Food Technology department becoming partly self-sustainable.

We offer high quality support and programmes of professional development, which provide many opportunities for both ECTs and for more experienced colleagues. As a department, we encourage staff to be forward-thinking to keep the subject current and up-to-date and are very supportive of those seeking opportunities to develop teaching and learning.
