Foreign Language Assistant - Spanish job summary

We are seeking to appoint a Foreign Language Assistant to join our growing Community Languages team. The successful candidate will work directly with Spanish KS3,4 and 5 students to develop their language skills and to build their confidence in and knowledge of the Spanish Language. To support in pupils, the ability to express their ideas and thoughts in another language and to understand and to respond to its speakers, both in speech and in writing. Please note this is a role within the school and cannot be done remotely.

The successful candidate will:

  • Plan and develop speaking resources for sessions with KS3,4 and 5 students in line with the exam board specifications which develop in students the ability to effectively communicate in Spanish.
  • Liaise with teachers to ensure that sessions support the current curriculum being taught in the classroom.
  • Assist class teachers in developing authentic learning support resources and displays.
  • Work closely with class teachers and support as necessary in the classroom to ensure maximum progress for students.
  • Support the development of students’ curiosity, enthusiasm and understanding of the Spanish speaking world.
  • Contribute to the wider MFL department by supporting with enrichment activities and trips.
