Wymondham College Prep School is looking to appoint an inspiring, active and nurturing enthusiast who loves everything outdoors and is committed to giving Reception – Year 6 children a ‘memory cementing’ range of education experiences. We are looking for someone who is happy to plan, deliver and lead lessons with small groups of pupils in our beautiful Woodland Wonder glade that is located at the front of the Wymondham College 83 acre site. THE POST

We are looking for a positive, caring and inspiring Teaching Assistant to join the team at Wymondham College Prep School on a permanent basis. The role will support the complement the professional work of teachers as directed.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working with children, preferably of primary school age, in an outdoor learning and/or Forest Schools setting;
  • Is confident to risk assess the use of tools, resources and the environment to aid children’s conceptual understanding, knowledge and skill in being able to learn from outdoor provocations and projects in both structured and personalised learning;
  • Have received training and/or have experience in a range of different academic, SEND and social & emotional areas of child development;
  • Be committed to the school’s high standards of teaching, learning and value relationships, wellbeing and belonging to be crucial to children’s development;
  • Have excellent communication skills, a warm and caring disposition and a good sense of humour;
  • Understand the importance of an inclusive environment, supporting pupils to follow the school’s Good Choice Mantras – ‘Do the Right Thing / Make a Difference / Value Every Voice’; 
  • ·      Have a nurturing and friendly approach with a high level of professionalism and compassion.
