September 2025

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced or highly ambitious and dynamic teacher to join our Food Preparation and Nutrition team at Verulam School in St Albans, Hertfordshire. We welcome applications for both full-time and part-time positions.

As a member of the Technology department, you will play a key role in shaping and further developing the Food Preparation and Nutrition curriculum. You’ll be expected to maintain high standards of teaching and learning, utilize resources effectively, and ensure the curriculum prepares students for the future. Teaching of a food qualification at KS5 or an ability to teach Design and Technology at KS3 would be an advantage.

Our faculty delivers a diverse range of subjects, including Food Preparation and Nutrition, Graphics, Resistant Materials, and Systems & Control at KS3. At KS4, we offer GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition and GCSE Design & Technology – Systems and Resistant Materials. At A-Level, we offer Product Design and are expanding to include Level 3 Food Science and Nutrition from September 2025. Our curriculum is continuously evolving, and we encourage staff to actively participate in discussions that further develop and enhance our provision, ensuring all students are set up for success.

The Design and Technology department is vibrant, forward-thinking, and supported by a passionate, dedicated team of staff and two outstanding technicians. This is an exciting time to join us as we prepare for upcoming renovations that will upgrade and modernize our facilities, ensuring we remain at the cutting edge of new technologies and innovations.

If you are passionate about fostering the success of both your students and colleagues, and have the drive to make a lasting difference, we would love to receive your application.
