What skills and experience we're looking for
Are you passionate about securing the best outcomes for children with special educational needs and particularly for those with severe learning difficulties, social communication difficulties and/or Autism?
We are looking for a talented teacher and leader to join our team. We are at an exciting phase of our school development and the successful candidate would have the opportunity to develop alongside an already established leadership team to grow our curriculum and provision offer.
We are looking for someone who is;
- A qualified teacher (with QTS) and with experience in leadership of small or large teams in a primary or specialist setting
- Experienced in developing other team members including support staff and trainee teachers
- Aligned with our school values: Communication, Care and Community.
- Has knowledge and experience in teaching children with special educational needs and physical disabilities particularly semi-formal learning needs from Key Stage 1 – 2 and experience with pupils with ASD is essential
- Has the ability to inspire and develop pupils to achieve their full potential through creative teaching and researched based pedagogy
- Excited about working in collaboration with multi-professional agencies to secure the best outcomes for all children
- Has excellent classroom management skills and is able to effectively lead a team of support assistants
- Has experience in leading in an area of the curriculum to promote teaching and learning across the school
- Has a knowledge of Integrated Therapy, as well as, providing care support for pupils as part of their daily provision
What the school offers its staff
This position provides the scope to develop your own leadership whilst also supporting others with theirs. As part of our commitment to you we offer support from an experienced leadership coach who currently works with our middle and senior leaders as well as access to formal leadership training from an external provider.
Greenmead School is an Outstanding Special School (November 2021) for primary aged pupils who have severe and/or multiple learning difficulties, some who have additional communication and physical disabilities and/or complex medical needs.
