What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Design and Technology to inspire, motivate and challenge our wonderful pupils. We require a member of staff who has ability and desire of teaching Hard Materials, Cad Cam, Polymers and where possible Graphics and Construction

What the school offers its staff

Curriculum Allocation:

All pupils study Design and Technology in KS3. In year 7 they have 3 hours per two week cycle and in years 8 and 9 they have 2 hours. Three form groups are blocked together to form 4 D+T teaching groups in KS3.

The current KS4 course offer is:

  • GCSE D&T (AQA)
  • GCSE Graphics (NCFE)
  • Level 1/2 Construction (Eduqas)
  • Level 1/2 Hospitality and Catering (Eduqas)

This post is very much focused on Hard Materials, Graphics and Construction

Extra-curricular opportunities:

In addition to the formal curriculum we undertake a number of other activities including the Rotary Club Design and the Chef Competitions. Furthermore we offer family sessions including ‘Cooking on a budget’ and run weekly DT club after school which are extremely popular. We also delvier Primary Masterclasses to our feeder primary schools.
