Maritime Academy Trust has set its strategy around ensuring that every child in Maritime thrives, irrespective of their background. This has resulted in an innovative programme of family and community partnership emerging across the schools in the Maritime Academy Trust. Early programmes include:

  • A 0-3 years offer in Bligh School to ensure every child is getting the best start

  • Our Maritime Skills Academy which is providing free extracurricular activities including drama, multi-sports and coding every Saturday at Greenacres School

  • Our community and family engagement work which is bringing our families and schools together in a range of exciting ways.

As we see the impact these measures are having, we are clearly in need of fundraising capacity to allow us to scale up our programmes so every Maritime child can thrive.

We have recently established the Maritime Children's Foundation, a Charitable Company. We are seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to join our team as our Fundraising Lead.

Role Overview:

As the Fundraising Lead, you will play a pivotal role in creating and executing the fundraising strategy for the Maritime Children's Foundation. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced fundraising professional to make a significant contribution to the lives of over 4,000 children and their families in Maritime.

  • Strategy Development:

    • Develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the organisation's mission and goals.

    • Identify and prioritise fundraising opportunities, including grants, partnerships, events, and individual giving.

  • Implementation:

    • Execute the fundraising strategy, taking a hands-on approach to secure financial support for the foundation's initiatives.

    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners.

  • Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with the broader Maritime team to integrate fundraising efforts seamlessly with programmatic activities.

    • Work closely with Marketing and Communications teams to ensure a consistent and compelling message to potential donors.

  • Reporting:

    • Provide regular reports on fundraising progress and results to the leadership team and board of directors.

You will be line managed by the new Foundation CEO, Susan Matheson, and work closely with the programme leads in Maritime as well as many members of the Maritime central team.
