The role:
Smestow Academy operates a busy kitchen serving pupils, staff, visitors, and a range of school events. Our General Assistants support the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen by carrying out a variety of tasks such as serving pupils on the till, assisting with ensuring all washing up and cleaning duties are completed to a high standard. The successful candidate will need to adhere to Matrix Academy Trust policies & procedures in regards to cleaning schedules, and all hygiene and safety regulations.
About you:
The role is demanding and busy and will require the following key skills and experience:
- Experience operating a till and providing friendly, efficient customer service in a catering environment
- Experience carrying out washing-up duties and maintaining high standards of cleanliness in a kitchen setting
- Previous experience working with the catering/education industry
- Able to complete all physical requirements of the role e.g. standing for long periods of time
- Able to work well within a team and undertake delegated tasks from the Head Chef.
