We are a founding member of a group of schools (also including Airy Hill, Glaisdale, Leaholm, Castleton and Glaisdale) in Whitby, known as the Yorkshire Endeavour Academy Trust (YEAT).

YEAT is also a designated ‘English Hub’, which delivers excellence in early language and phonics teaching in reception and KS1.

Our opportunity
West Cliff Primary School have launched a new SEMH Targeted Mainstream Provision for a small cohort of pupils from the Whitby area.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed practitioner with experience of working with children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH).

The provision will support a maximum of 8 pupils at one time, in EYFS, KS1 and KS2 who need support to re-engage in learning and achieve their true potential.

The individual will be able:
• To build relationships with young people who may feel disengaged from learning and to nurture and champion them
• To think creatively and work well within a team to develop personalised and rigorous pathways for young people to achieve their best
• To be committed to enabling and leading on high quality teaching (in conjunction with SENDCo and class teachers) as well as providing a focus on nurture, social and emotional skills and therapeutic supports

This is initially a fixed term post for two terms starting in January or as soon as possible. The successful candidate must hold English and Maths GCSE level ‘C’ or above or equivalent.
