General Teaching Assistant job summary
General Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child with complex learning, physical and language and communication needs – Cerebral Palsy
Hours of work: 8.45am – 3.20pm
2 days per week, term time only
Salary: Grade 15 Spinal Points 3 – 4 (£9.62 - £9.81 per hour)
We are looking to appoint a part time 1:1 Teaching Assistant, 2 days a week, to support a child in Year 1 with cerebral palsy. The child’s needs include complex physical, language and communication and learning needs.
The successful applicant will have experience of working 1:1 with children with complex physical, learning and language and communication skills and good knowledge of STC to support, and develop, communication skills.
You will be expected to work with parents and be part of a happy, positive and inclusive learning environment. The applicant must be self motivated, with good communication skills and able to use their own initiative. Training will be provided to allow the successful applicant to manage the child’s medical needs safely during the school day.
Qualification: Level 3 or equivalent
