About You
As a Governance and Development Officer at Creative Education Trust, you’ll play a vital role in supporting effective, compliant, and developmental governance across our schools. Working closely with the Head of Governance, you’ll help ensure our Trust Board, committees, and Local Academy Councils operate with confidence, clarity, and strategic impact, ultimately contributing to better life chances for every pupil.
Our ideal candidate has:
- A solid understanding of governance frameworks and statutory responsibilities within education or regulated sectors.
- Experience in clerking, compliance, or governance support, with a keen eye for detail and strong organisational skills.
- Confidence in preparing agendas, taking accurate minutes, and managing governance documentation.
- The ability to build positive relationships with trustees, governors, and school leaders to promote collaboration and continuous improvement.
- A commitment to professional development and has relevant training or experience in governance, compliance, or education leadership.

The Governance department plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective management and strategic direction of the Trust's academies. The governance framework is designed to uphold integrity, accountability, and a commitment to excellence across all schools within the Trust. This framework includes multiple layers such as the Trust Board, Academy Councils, and the Executive Leadership Team, all working collaboratively to oversee financial management, educational performance, and strategic initiatives. The Governance and Compliance team supports these efforts, ensuring consistency and adherence to the Trust's Scheme of Delegation.
