Shortlisted for the National Governance Association’s Outstanding Governance in a Multi-Academy Trust award in 2021, Northern Star Academies Trust is looking for TWO self-motivated individuals to provide high quality and responsive governance support, advice and guidance to the valued volunteers who make up our vibrant governance community.

There are TWO posts available, with postholders working closely as part of a governance team and with the schools that make up our Trust ‘hubs’. The two roles are based in Keighley/Skipton, and Harrogate respectively; however, there may be a requirement to provide cover support to governors in each hub on an ad hoc basis.

As a Trust Partnership we are absolutely committed to flexible working, and in this extremely varied role you will be required to manage your own time and work independently as well as part of a wider Trust team. The willingness and ability to attend evening meetings (in person and remotely) is essential, as is the ability to travel to school sites across North and West Yorkshire.

You will need to be experienced in using Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel etc.) as well as using in-house database systems. The successful candidate will ideally have an awareness of governance procedures within a school/Trust environment; however, we welcome and encourage applications from a diverse range of candidates.

We offer a commitment to your professional development, the opportunity to work in partnership with colleagues from primary and secondary schools across the Trust Partnership, and the chance to be a part of a dynamic and growing Trust. If you want to make a difference in supporting our volunteer governors and are committed to improving the educational experience for children, we would love to meet you and introduce you to our Trust.

Commitment to safeguarding

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. All posts are subject to an enhanced DBS clearance. Please note that in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022, an online search will be carried out as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
