The Role:

As our Governance Professional, you will play a crucial role in supporting the effective operation of our Trust Board and its committees. The role combines governance and administrative expertise. The Governance Professional also provides dedicated administrative support to the Chair of the Trust and to the Chief Executive Officer (approximately 10% of the role ).

  • Providing expert advice and guidance on governance matters, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice.
  • Preparing and distributing agendas, minutes, and reports for board and committee meetings.
  • Managing the administration of board and committee meetings, including arranging venues, coordinating attendance, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of governance documents and information.
  • Supporting the recruitment, induction, and training of trustees and local governance committee members.
  • Acting as the point of contact for governance-related enquiries.
  • Keeping abreast of changes in education legislation and governance best practice.

You Will Be:

  • Highly organised with excellent administrative and communication skills.
  • A strong communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with a meticulous approach to record-keeping.
  • Knowledgeable about governance principles and practices, preferably within the education sector.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Committed to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Have a strong interest in Education.

Desirable:

  • Experience working as a governance professional or clerk in a school or multi-academy trust.
  • A relevant qualification in governance or administration.

Pay scale Grade 10 .23/ £17.80 per hour / £11,857 actual ,(Pay award pending )

Equivalent to Leicestershire LA Grade 10 Term time plus 1 week 14.8 hours per week
