Are your organisation skills ‘second to none’? Do you have a track record of successful performance in administration roles? If so, this may be the next move you are looking for.
We are seeking a Governance Support Officer, who is passionate about ensuring high standards of governance. You will be a highly organised and detail-oriented individual with experience of administration and note/minute taking, and a strong ability to support committees. Ideally, you will have a working knowledge of formal committee conduct and recent experience of working in governance but this is not essential as training can be provided.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, working to a high level of accuracy under pressure and the ability to pick up new skills quickly. You should be flexible, with the ability to attend meetings outside of normal working hours, and have access to transport to attend meetings across the region. If you are resilient, adaptable and passionate about upholding high administrative and governance standards, we would love to hear from you.
In this post you'll play a key role in supporting our Head of Governance. Your responsibilities will include providing vital administrative, organisational and procedural support to the Head of Governances and to our committees, sub-committees and appeal panels. You'll be instrumental in preparing, collating and circulating committee documents, taking minutes, recording actions, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines.
You will benefit from a generous package with benefits, including 32 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, the LGPS-defined benefit pension scheme, free on-site parking and a variety of staff benefits and discounts.
