We are currently recruiting for Key Stage Leaders of Support for Learning to work at Dorothy Goodman School within the secondary phase - exact location shown in document below.

The Key Stage Leader of Support for Learning will work across the key stage to ensure that high quality support and access is in place for all pupils including being responsible for PPA cover for identified classes. You will develop expertise in an agreed area of the curriculum and will be responsible for delivering high quality learning experiences across the key stage within this area - tracking progress using Earwig and being responsible for the progress that pupils make.

Alongside your work in classrooms you will support the Pupil Progress Intervention Lead to identify and develop programmes of support for pupils who need interventions and you will monitor the work that is being completed ensuring that coaching and mentoring is provided across the key stage to embed the strategies used with pupils as their usual way of working.

You will direct support staff to ensure that the needs of pupils across the key stage are met and you will work collaboratively with teachers to create enabling environments and to ensure that all staff contribute to pupil progress records on Earwig. You will have identified areas of expertise which you use to support pupils, using a coaching model with support staff to ensure that they are able to develop their expertise.

As a lifelong learner you will develop confidence in the broad range of curriculum strategies used by the school and will model these to staff identifying through personal development reviews areas for development and offering opportunities for additional support.

Working in partnership is key and you will be confident in working collaboratively in multi disciplinary teams taking on board feedback and responding to ensure that the best outcomes for pupils are achieved. You will build positive relationships with parents and carers and will be able to communicate clearly and confidently with all stakeholders.

You will uphold the values and ethos of the school in the work that you do with children and young people and will be an exemplary role model to our young people as well as your colleagues.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and subject to a check being carried out at an Enhanced level by the Disclosure and Barring Service regarding any previous criminal record.
