Guidance Leader job summary

We require a guidance leader to work within our pastoral system. Guidance leaders play a pivotal role in the care and guidance of students in years 9-11, looking after their pastoral needs and ensuring the highest standards of achievement and behaviour.

You will liaise with our feeder schools, draw up plans for supporting individual students, monitor progress and manage interventions where they prove necessary. You will liaise with outside agencies and maintain excellent contact with parents as key partners in every young person’s education.

You will be an excellent negotiator with the ability to diffuse situations; you will have outstanding communication skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure and relentless optimism. You will be educated to level 3 or beyond, with good ICT skills; you will already have experience of working with young people in educational welfare, preferably in a school setting.
