Hawkchurch CE Primary School - 1:1 SEMH EYFS Teaching Assistant, 32.5hpw term time only job summary

The First Federation Trust, a Multi Academy Trust of 29 primary schools, is seeking to recruit a 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant for Hawkchurch CE Primary School to support an EYFS pupil with additional needs in 1:1 working and within groups. The role will also involve supporting the pupil during mealtimes and with intimate care.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Establish constructive relationships with the pupil and encourage interaction with others
  • Promote inclusion through the development of social skills, language and emotional wellbeing
  • Liaise with other professionals both within and outside the school
  • Show a high degree of initiative and be able to react to given situations with integrity and compassion

Desirable characteristics:

  • experience in working with children with SEMH
  • experience supporting children with language delay and social communication difficulties
  • experience supporting children with behavioural difficulties

This role is offered on a fixed term basis linked to funding.

Hawkchurch CE Primary School is a small, rural primary school set in the beautiful village of Hawkchurch, East Devon with good transport links to both Devon and Dorset. The school provides a warm and nurturing learning environment for pupils aged 2-11 with a family atmosphere which has excellent relationships with parents/carers and the local community.
