The School
Kenilworth Multi Academy Trust has a vacancy for a Head of Art from September 2026. The vacancy is based at Kenilworth School and Sixth Form.

The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and committed Head of Art to lead a department total of 5, and further develop Art and Design across our secondary school. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher, or an aspiring middle leader, to shape a vibrant, inclusive and ambitious art curriculum.
The successful candidate will be passionate about the visual arts and dedicated to ensuring that all students, regardless of background or starting point, can access, enjoy and succeed in Art and Design. The successful candidate will teach Art across a range of disciplines up to Key Stage 5. We are looking for a talented, innovative teacher and leader with a proven track record of effective teaching to deliver against high standards. You will have strong leadership skills to manage a team and have a clear vision for the planning and delivery of Art in the school curriculum.
The successful applicant should be aspirational, innovative and have a genuine engaging enthusiasm for teaching and learning.
As Head of Art, you will:
Provide strong leadership and strategic direction for Art and Design across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5, where applicable)
Develop and implement an engaging, ambitious and well-sequenced curriculum aligned with national expectations
Lead on raising standards of teaching, learning and achievement in Art
Monitor progress, assessment and outcomes to ensure all students make strong progress
Manage resources effectively and promote high-quality art within the department
Contribute positively to the wider life of the school through enrichment, exhibitions and cross-curricular activities
