“This outstanding school exemplifies the very best in educational provision”*

Judged ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, Yardleys is a heavily oversubscribed 11-16 multi-ethnic stand-alone academy with 900 students on roll. The School is ambitious and well managed with an inspiring learning environment. Teachers benefit from generous non-contact time, weekly training and smaller than average class sizes.

The collaborative ethos which permeates all parts of the school is summed up by our motto “Working together for a better future”. This results in a highly supportive community, which allied with excellent student behaviour and a well organised school, allows teachers to focus on their teaching and improving their practice.
We wish to appoint a creative and dynamic Head of Art who is keen to develop their leadership and management skills. The Art department is a well-resourced and a popular choice for students at Key Stage 4. Students and staff are ambitious in what they can achieve. We are currently delivering AQA GCSE Art, Craft and Design.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team is vital, as is the ability to coach and mentor colleagues, sharing ideas and leading by example. The ideal candidate will share our belief that every child is capable of success with the right support and be able to deliver high quality, engaging lessons and training to promote Art.

Yardleys offers a commitment to professional development opportunities, an excellent induction programme, a healthcare package, well behaved students who are keen to learn and state of the art facilities.
