Job summary

We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled, experienced qualified teacher as Head of Business and Economics, supporting with departmental leadership. Committed to raising achievement in the subject area, they will give students the skills to succeed across the curriculum.

The Business and Economics department offers a range of courses from Key Stage 4-5, which include A Level Business, Economics, GCSE Business and a range of vocational courses. 230 students study business subjects at Key Stage 4, and 150 at Key Stage 5.

What we are looking for

Be a high calibre, experienced practitioner who can teach all students across Key Stages 4 and 5.
Be able to show a strong record of raising student attainment through their teaching of examination groups
Be dynamic in their ability to teach both academic and vocational subjects
Have the ability to implement strategies that will inspire and further enhance our students’ love of Business and Economics
Be an individual who shares our common sense of purpose and high expectations of what students can achieve
Have the capacity and drive to develop their teaching and bring innovative ideas to the classroom and the department
Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
