What skills and experience we're looking for
Plympton Academy is seeking to appoint a dynamic Head of Computer Science.You will join our team of committed professionals teaching our fantastic students from years7 -13. You will be passionate about your subject and the development of pedagogy and curriculum.
As Head of Computer Science you will lead by example, develop, inspire and motivate your team and be committed to achieving high standards. You will be looking to enable our young people to achieve their very best. This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding teacher who is now looking for promotion to Head of Department in a supportive and successful Academy or for an established Head of Computer Science looking to continue the improvement journey that this department has already successfully started.
What you will need to succeed:
- A qualified Teacher of Computer Science and able to deliver up to KS5
- Passionate about teaching and learning and improving the life chances of our students
- Outstanding classroom practice with high expectations for achievements and behaviour
- Be able to plan and deliver a creative and stimulating curriculum
- High expectations for yourself and the students to ensure that all achieve their very best
- An aspiring leader of learning and happy to grasp exciting CPD opportunities
- Coach and mentor subject staff to raise standards in learning and progress to be Good and Outstanding
- Prepared to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the Academy
- Contribute to the values, ethos and the development of our schools
