Head of Computing & Business Studies job summary

Astrea Academy Sheffield (Secondary Phase) have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Computing & Business Studies to join their team!

The Head of Computing & Business Studies will be accountable for raising standards of scholar attainment and achievement within Computing & Business Studies and to monitor and support scholar progress.

As a Head of Department you will:

  • Ensure the delivery of an appropriate, comprehensive, high quality and cost-effective knowledge-rich and knowledge-led curriculum programme that complements the academy improvement plan and school self-evaluation
  • Establish common standards of practice within the department and develop the effectiveness of teaching and learning in all subject areas within the department
  • Day-to-day management, control and operation of course provision with the department, including effective deployment of staff and physical resources
  • Lead the development of appropriate curriculum, resources, feedback policies assessment and teaching and learning strategies in the department

We are looking for:

  • Qualified teacher status
  • Successful experience of teaching Science at KS3 & KS4
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Science or a very closely related subject area
  • A level experience is desirable
