Head of Creative Technologies job summary

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious talented and well qualified teacher to lead and develop the curriculum across the range of Creative Technologies. The successful candidate will manage all work relating to Design and Technology, Food and Nutrition and Computer Science.

The successful candidate will be required to teach Design and Technology across the full ability range of KS3 and KS4.

The department structure recognises the National Curriculum for Computing and Design Technology and places an emphasis on the utilisation of IT hardware and software to create programmes or products. We aim to take advantage of this synergy and build in greater support and capacity.

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a dynamic middle leader to develop the curriculum and extra-curricular offer into one that is contemporary and captures the imagination of our pupils. There is also an opportunity to expand the curriculum offer at key stage four towards Engineering and Creative Media. The College has an ambition to explore the use of Robotics and modern design software in both curriculum areas and establish industry links.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for Computing, DT and Food and Nutrition, be a very good teacher and possess strong leadership and management skills. You will inspire our pupils and provide the opportunity for them to work creatively gaining technical skills and a wide range of practical expertise.
