Head of Cyber and Teacher of Computer Science job summary
We are looking for someone who is experienced in delivering computing at GCSE and A level. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to create a conducive environment which enables other staff to develop and maintain positive attitudes towards ICT.
Our Applied Subjects Learning Area consists of Computer Science, ICT, Business Studies, Media Studies, Design Technology, Economics, Hospitality, Food & Nutrition, Foundation Learning, Vocational Learning and Textiles. Across the areas are 12 teachers although within the ICT/Computer Science department there are four full time teachers.
CyberFirst Schools
The successful candidate for this job will continue with our achievements on this program as Head of Cyber which carries a TLR of £3619 per annum.
This role will include:
- Coordinating guest speakers for subjects
- Working with our company partners to enhance Cyber education
- Running our very successful Cyber Club
- Liaising with primary feeder schools to support cyber education
Wyedean School is a gold standard CyberFirst school. Supported by the NCSC, we are using cyber security as a way to:
- encourage a diverse range of students into taking up computer science
- supporting students throughout all Computing courses
- developing new content and resources to support teachers across the region
Through the CyberFirst initiative we are hosting events, trialling cyber security content and equipment, developing new ways of engaging students and building educational resources for teachers that we hope to model to replicate across the UK.
