To start January 2023

The King’s (The Cathedral) School is a highly successful coeducational, comprehensive academy in Peterborough with excellent rail and road connections to London and the North. Within the local community of parents, the School is extremely popular and over subscribed and has been consistently praised by Ofsted, and SIAMS, as an outstanding school.

We are looking to appoint a well-qualified and experienced teacher to lead our Chemistry department. This is an exciting opportunity to take charge of a successful, and high achieving department, and lead the team to greater heights. The appointed applicant will be part of a department that has high standards and achieves excellent progress at both GCSE and A Level.

The newly appointed candidate will be leading a committed and successful team. The department is housed in a suite of dedicated teaching rooms, including a preparation room and a computer room. We are well resourced for science and chemistry practical activities and all teaching rooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards.

We are keen to appoint a candidate with a willingness to demonstrate commitment to extra-curricular activities.

A letter of application and completed application, including two referees, should be sent to Mr John Harrison by midday on Monday 3 October 2022.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Commitment to safeguarding

The King’s (The Cathedral) School fully recognises the responsibility it has under section 175 of the Education
Act 2002 (as amended), the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Act 2009 (as amended) and Education
and Training (Welfare of Children) Act, 2021 to have arrangements in place to safeguard and promote the
