Required for September 2020
The Vale Academy are looking to appoint a dynamic, inspirational, hard-working and creative Curriculum Leader for English to join our academy team in September 2020.
The Vale is a successful and high-achieving 11-18 academy which has an excellent reputation and an established trend of high student outcomes, which are consistently above those achieved nationally. Indeed, 2018 outcomes place the academy in the top 5% of schools in England for overall progress and its attainment at 4+ and 5+ in English and Maths is the highest in the area. This high achievement has also been sustained in 2019. In January 2017, the academy moved into a new building which provides state of the art facilities and an outstanding learning environment for both students and staff. The Vale also offers an extensive and varied programme of extra-curricular activities to support a rich and rounded education, both within and beyond the classroom, and has a particular specialism in music.
English is a strong and successful department; outcomes at both GCSE and A Level are excellent.
If you aspire to work as part of a high performing team, then The Vale Academy is the right choice.
You will be joining an ambitious, committed and hardworking team who are passionate about the difference we can make to our young people, staff, families and the wider community.
The Delta Academies Trust is committed to pursuing the very best for every student to ensure that “no individual is left behind.”
Visits to the academy would be warmly welcomed by appointment. Please contact Kathryn Tucker on 01652 294511 if you would like to arrange a visit.

The Vale is a successful and high-achieving 11-18 academy which has an excellent reputation and an established trend of high student outcomes, which are consistently above those achieved nationally. Indeed, 2023 outcomes placed the academy second in the local authority for overall progress which was "above" national average at +0.32 and its attainment at 4+ and 5+ in both English and Maths was 74% and 50% respectively. Provisional results for 2024 see this trend continuing with students’ performance in English and Maths being significantly above national averages.
The academy is situated in Brigg, North Lincolnshire and serves a largely rural community. Brigg itself is a historic market town on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. Many of our students travel a considerable distance to school.
