Head of Department Business, Enterprise and Careers job summary
We are seeking a suitably qualified, committed individual with a passion for positively impacting upon our students in our growing, vibrant and dynamic school, Watling Academy . As the Head of Business, Enterprise and Careers, you will oversee courses in Business Studies and other related courses, ensuring the curriculum is robust, challenging and a culture of innovative teaching and learning is embedded. You will also take on the role of whole school Careers Lead, leading the development of Careers and Work-Related provision.
You will have excellent subject knowledge and a passion for your subject. You will be prepared to go the extra mile for our students and to develop colleagues within your team. You will receive mentoring, coaching and support from an experienced senior leader to develop the knowledge and skills to enable you to take the next steps in your career when you are ready.
Watling Academy was judged as ‘Outstanding’ by OFSTED in May 2023 and is a purpose-built secondary school in its fourth year of operation, located within the Whitehouse development on the western expansion area of Milton Keynes. The Academy will have 1800 students when at full capacity. Watling Academy is part of the Denbigh Alliance MAT.
