Job summary
The Head of Department is responsible for line managing staff within their area, to ensure sustained educational progress by all pupils within the specialism. They will be expected to lead, develop and enhance teaching practice of others. The Head of Department is accountable for leading, managing and developing their curriculum area and pupil development across the curriculum. The successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of GCSE and KS3 in Product Design and working knowledge of GCSE and KS3 in other areas within Design and Technology. They will also have a strong commitment to high standards of classroom practice and the ability to contribute towards raising student achievement.
