Head of Design and Technology job summary

We require a motivated, experienced individual to be the Head of Design and Technology. The desired candidate will have the skills and vision required to develop a dynamic, innovative team. They will have proven leadership skills, a strong grasp of the elements of successful curriculum design and will be dedicated to improving standards and accelerating student progress.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a passion for Design and Technology and experience of teaching their subject across KS3, 4 and 5
  • Can precision plan and improve the quality of teaching and learning across a department
  • Has the skills to develop a curriculum, implement and monitor change
  • Can lead and motivate a team towards a shared goal
  • Can analyse and use data effectively to ensure rapid and sustained student progress
  • Has excellent communication skills with the ability to build excellent parent and student relationships
  • Is willing to participate in the wider life and development of the school, including providing enrichment opportunities for students
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
