What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint a creative and motivated Head of Department to lead our successful and hard-working Design and Technology team.
The successful candidate will be:
- A passionate advocate for your subject.
- Dynamic and innovative; providing professional leadership for the department to ensure high quality teaching and learning; enhancing further the excellent exam results of the Design and Technology Department.
- An exceptional classroom practitioner, delivering lessons that motivate and inspire our students to achieve their academic and personal potential.
- Able to lead and develop the delivery of Design and Technology in Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
- Interested in and/or have experience of engineering.

Our Design and Technology lessons are delivered in well-equipped classrooms (two food rooms, two workshops, an engineering room, a machining room, a CAD CAM room, and access to a computer room that is shared with other subjects). It is a well-resourced department with a class set of laptops, laser cutters, 3D printers, lathes, millers, MIG welding and oxy acetylene facilities as well as the full range of standard school workshop facilities.
