Head of Drama job summary
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, ambitious and inspiring teacher of Drama to lead our dedicated and already successful department in this highly respected and over-subscribed 11-18 mixed comprehensive school.
You will be expected to promote and deliver outstanding teaching, learning and attainment in Drama across all key stages in our purpose built Drama Studio. You will have the opportunity to teach across the full age and ability range and you will enjoy working with our motivated, well-behaved pupils and with a supportive and hard-working staff. The importance of the Arts in the curriculum and the impact they have in developing confident, creative and critical thinkers is recognised and participation is positively encouraged. There is a broad range of extra-curricular and enrichment activities including our Annual Arts festival week and you will be expected to work closely with other departments e.g. Music and Dance and contribute to performances throughout the year.
The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject and have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. An outstanding classroom practitioner with a proven track record of achievement. The ability to enthuse and motivate students to achieve their very best and to encourage and promote an interest in the subject across all abilities and age ranges. The vacancy would suit an ambitious teacher of Drama or existing Departmental Head seeking a new opportunity.
