As the Head of Department for English, you will be responsible for:

  • Leadership and Strategic Vision: Providing visionary leadership to the department, setting strategic goals aligned with the overall mission of the school.
  • Academic Excellence: Ensuring high standards of academic quality in teaching, curriculum development, and student outcomes.
  • Curriculum Development: strategic overview for both the Key Stage 3 & 4 curriculum
  • Behaviour Standards: Upholding and promoting the highest standards of the Sutton Way
  • Research Advancement: Promoting and supporting cutting-edge research initiatives within the department, fostering a culture of research excellence.
  • Team Management: Managing and developing a diverse team of staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Student Success: Supporting student success and engagement, promoting a student-centred approach to education.
