What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint an innovative and inspirational teacher to lead our English Faculty. KGGS is an oversubscribed and successful selective girls’ grammar school, which consistently achieves high academic standards, both in attainment and progress. The English Faculty currently consists of ten well-qualified and skilful practitioners who deliver both English Language and English Literature to GCSE and A level standard.
The successful candidate will be a well-qualified teacher of English, with a proven track record of leading a team. Experience of teaching both English Language and Literature at GCSE is essential alongside the delivery of either Language or Literature at A-level. A willingness to contribute to the wider life of our school community will also be key.

KGGS is an outstanding selective academy of 1200 students where the focus in the classroom is on teaching and developing students and staff alike.
In 2019 Kesteven and Grantham Girls' School achieved some of its best ever results with 91% of our students achieving 5+ in both English and Mathematics, a progress 8 score of 0.92 and an attainment 8 score of 7.0. The school has a large sixth form of approximately 320 students with an average A-level grade of B- achieved in 2019.
KGGS was placed as one of the top performing state schools in the East Midlands according to the Sunday Times Schools guide 2020.
