The school:
Springwell Community College is an 11-16 Secondary School in Staveley, Northeast Derbyshire. Our aim at Springwell is to deliver a great Education to our students. We expect our students to work hard and every day towards these and be kind to each other, themselves and their community.
The role:
Springwell Community College is looking to appoint a full-time dedicated Head of English. The successful candidate will lead the faculty with responsibilities for curriculum design, teaching and learning within the department and progress in the faculty. As part of this the successful candidate would have responsibilities relating to faculty QA, pursuing the areas identified by the school improvement plan in particular, as well as supporting teachers across the faculty in their teaching and learning and supporting with achievement and behaviour. The role will need to work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to maintain a high level of achievement and continuously improve the department.
The person:
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, resourceful and keen to ensure that the highest possible standards of pupil achievement, personal development and well-being are achieved. The post holder will want to inspire our students to develop a love of English and be a role model to colleagues. The successful candidate will have experience of being an effective leader.
Teaching roles: Applicants must be able to attend the school in person if selected for interview.
