Head of English The Latimer Arts College, Kettering, Northamptonshire

Job description

Would you like to be part of a school where the strengths and talents of students and staff are extremely valued (Ofsted February 2018)

Would you like to work in a school where the culture of being happy and safe means pupils can, and do, enjoy being at school (Ofsted February 2018)

Are you an outstanding teacher with the passion and motivation to inspire young people?

If so, then you will not want to miss out on this golden opportunity to join our high-performing school, as Head of English (known as Progress Leader in our College). The person appointed will be an outstanding classroom practitioner and strong leader who will join a vibrant and forward-thinking English team, who are passionate about and committed to student success. If this excites you then it really is worth applying for this post.

Why come to Latimer? This is a fantastic school to work in: as a result of our success and popularity we are over-subscribed and have a very strong positive reputation. On interview we ask candidates for their impressions of the College and without fail they comment on how wonderful our students are, the supportive team ethos amongst staff and how friendly and welcoming the College is.

We genuinely care about our staff, their well-being and their professional development: we are a happy team, committed to working collaboratively and sharing the very best practice. This was very much recognised in our latest Ofsted Inspection.

We are seeking a Head of Department with the vision, passion and energy to deliver excellence for our students; someone who will share our passion for English; and also someone who will bring a clear vision, new ideas and embrace the culture of sharing that we foster.

Whether you are currently in a leadership role or looking to make the next step-up in your career, this post is an excellent opportunity for you to really make a difference on your journey to senior leadership.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

The Latimer Arts College values the diversity of our workforce and welcomes applications from all sectors of the community.
