Head of Estates job summary
Robin Hood MAT is a forward-thinking Trust of nine schools united by a shared purpose: to make a lasting difference in the communities we serve. We believe in innovation, authenticity, and empowerment — creating environments where children, staff, and leaders can flourish.
We are known nationally for breaking new ground in education, pioneering creative approaches to leadership development, technology, and sustainability. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Head of Estates who shares our ambition and wants to play a leading role in shaping the future of our schools.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented estates professional to take the next step in their career. As Head of Estates, you will lead the development and delivery of a Trust-wide Estates and Sustainability Strategy, ensuring our schools are safe, efficient, and inspiring places to learn.
You will:
Oversee estate management across nine schools and two central offices, providing expert guidance to leaders and site teams.
Manage a sizeable annual School Condition Allocation fund, prioritising projects that deliver value and impact.
Lead capital projects from concept to completion — from refurbishments to energy-efficiency programmes.
Act as the Trust’s Competent Person for health and safety, ensuring legal compliance and embedding a proactive safety culture.
Champion sustainability and environmental improvement across all sites.
Work collaboratively as part of the Central Team, influencing strategy alongside other senior Trust leads.
This is a highly visible role requiring strategic thinking, strong technical knowledge, and exceptional communication skills. It is ideal for someone ready to move beyond operational management into trust-wide leadership and influence.
