What skills and experience we're looking for

Millthorpe School is seeking to appoint an inspirational leader to build on the continued development of our successful Global Communication faculty. We are looking for a highly motivated colleague, with a proven record or the promise of outstanding practice, to enable our students to be the best that they can be. This is a really exciting opportunity for a current or aspiring leader to continue to shape a faculty that is striving to be outstanding.

An accomplished Modern Foreign Languages specialist, you must be a highly effective teacher, with the ability to teach across age ranges and abilities. You must be competent to teach both French and German at KS3, and at least one of these subjects, or preferably both, to GCSE level. You will be committed to ensuring the highest standards for our young people to support their future learning and adult life.

The Global Communications Faculty comprises Modern Foreign Languages (currently French and German), Business Studies and Computing, and consists of five experienced teachers (four part time, one full time) teaching either MFL or Computing, including Subject Leaders for French and Computing.

Currently, all students study French or German in KS3 and the more able students (around 50-60% of the cohort) are expected to study French or German GCSE. All students study Computing in KS3 and Computing is a popular option subject at GCSE.

Interviews will be held during the week commencing 20 May 2024.
