Head of Faculty - MFL job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an outstanding Languages Teacher, to lead our MFL Faculty. The Head of Faculty will lead the curriculum team in providing high standards of teaching and promote a positive learning environment across the whole department. Key responsibilities will be the academic achievement and wider experiences of students learning languages and to lead on the teaching of Spanish.

The Opportunity

  • To take the lead of further improving the standards of the MFL faculty.
  • Help to build, communicate and implement a shared vision within the team.
  • Contribute to the operational leadership of the academy, working alongside members of the senior leadership team.
  • Make a positive contribution to the development of cross Trust strategies that impact on teaching, learning, achievement, staff development and student welfare.

The ideal candidate

  • Able to embrace working collaboratively within a growing and forward-thinking department.
  • Will possess a strong record of accomplishment together with the ability to teach challenging and enjoyable lessons across all key stages.
  • Has Qualified Teacher Status and a good educational background including a good Honours Degree or equivalent.
  • Honours Degree or equivalent.
  • Can evidence both curricular and pastoral responsibilities.
  • Has high personal standards in terms of attendance, punctuality and organising workload.
  • Is an excellent communicator with great interpersonal skills.
  • Has a positive, enthusiastic, and professional approach towards work.
  • Has up to date CPD and a willingness to undergo further training and development.
