Head of Faculty RE & PHSE job summary
Aston Community Education Trust is a forward thinking and ambitious multi-academy trust, comprising of three secondary academies and nine junior academies across the Rotherham, Sheffield and north Derbyshire areas.
We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and hard-working professional who is passionate about teaching RE and PHSE and will lead the RE/PHSE Faculty to secure an outstanding, ambitious quality of education which will improve the learning and achievement for all our students.
At Swinton Academy RE and PHSE are highly valued and hold an important place in our curriculum. All students study Religious Studies to GCSE level. Engagement is strong. Some students also study GCSE Citizenship.
You will be instrumental in inspiring and developing the faculty as well as raising standards and improving the life chances of our young people. We are looking to recruit a leader who wants to inspire, is excited by learning and has a desire to further develop a career within an ambitious Multi-Academy Trust.
The post-holder will, with support, lead the RE/PHSE faculty to secure high-quality teaching, the effective use of resources and improved standards of learning, progress and achievement for all students.

Successful candidates will be subject to a DBS check at the appropriate level. Additional checks in relation to the Childcare Disqualification Regulations will be undertaken for successful candidates to junior academies. If you have lived or worked outside of the UK, additional information may be required from you to satisfy safer recruitment checks.
