What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint a creative and motivated Head of Department to lead Food Technology and Child Development.

The successful candidate will be:

  • A passionate advocate for your subject.
  • Dynamic and innovative; providing professional leadership for the department to ensure high quality teaching and learning; enhancing further the excellent exam results of these subjects.
  • An exceptional classroom practitioner, delivering lessons that motivate and inspire our students to achieve their academic and personal potential.

What the school offers its staff

We are able to offer you a welcoming and supportive environment led by a leadership team committed to staff wellbeing. Bespoke ongoing professional development is a priority, and all staff are able to access high quality, carefully tailored training and development opportunities, including the observation of teaching and the sharing of practice.

The department is well resourced and has recently benefited from the installation of a range of new machinery, including a brand new, purpose built Food Technology room to supplement our original facilities. A full time Food Technician works alongside subject teachers to support the running of the department and the progress of our pupils.
