Head of Geography
Role: Head of Geography Department (Subject Specialism)
Salary: Main Scale + TLR 2c
Responsible to: Head of Humanities Faculty
Start date: September 2022
We seek to appoint an outstanding teacher and leader to drive forward our Geography faculty. The successful applicant will be instrumental
in ensuring the further improvement of the Geography faculty, ensuring high quality teaching and that there are student intervention
programmes in place which ensure student progress. This post would be ideal for either a strong ambitious and aspiring teacher or a
current TLR holder. They would work under the guidance and support of our Humanities Head of Faculty.
Sanders Draper is part of the Success for All Multi Academy Trust along with Redden Court School and The Royal Liberty. As an employee,
you will be covered by our excellent well-being support and medical cover programme through the School Advisory Service (SAS). Sanders
School is a small comprehensive, 11-16 school, located in Hornchurch and rich in history. We pride ourselves on our strong sense of

As the Head of Geography you will
● be accountability for the standards attained by all students within the department area
● help to monitor standards of attainment, progress and attendance across the faculty, planning and applying strategies/interventions for
rapid progress
● ensure the delivery of effective teaching and learning that maximises individual progress
● support with the monitoring of the teaching and learning including quality assurance, assessing and reporting of progress
across the faculty
● Help support the development and growth of other teachers in your area.
