You will be an outstanding teacher with the ability to teach Post 16. You will also have the leadership experience and the ability to challenge individuals within your team whilst supporting them to achieve outstanding results. The department aims to continue its success at GCSE and A Level whilst striving to exceed its targets at all key stages. We are committed to delivering the best possible Geography curriculum and the Head of Department will be supported by the Directors of Humanities across the Family of Schools.

Essential educational requirements
Outstanding knowledge of Geography education at all levels, Key stage 3 – Key stage 5
A degree in an appropriate discipline and completion of an appropriate teacher training course
Essential skills and experience
Awareness of the latest developments in Geography teaching and their impact on the subject in schools.
Knowledge of the health and safety aspects of organising and running fieldwork at all key stages.
Successful experience of teaching Geography at all Key Stages.
Evidence of managing and leading a new initiative across a department or whole school.
Proven track record of making a difference to the learning and experiences of students inside and outside the classroom.
An outstanding classroom practitioner with a clear direction and vision for teaching and promoting Geography across the Academy and the local community.
Outstanding relationships with students and staff members which promotes excellent classroom discipline and attainment.
Ability to interpret statistical data.
Ability to communicate high expectations to all students and staff.
