What skills and experience we're looking for

The Geography team is currently a large faculty, comprising of Geography from KS3 – KS5 and Travel and Tourism at KS4. This is a role ideal for an ambitious middle leader or outstanding practitioner wanting to take on an influential role in a large secondary setting and advance their career. You will be supported by Senior Leadership to implement your vision for the faculty and provide the highest quality of education for our young people.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for the subject and have a clear vision for outstanding provision of Geography.

The successful applicant will:

  • Enhance teaching and learning within Geography.
  • Line-manage the Geography and Travel and Tourism faculties within Waltham Toll Bar Academy and contribute to the wider Humanities department.
  • Lead the implementation of the KS3-KS5 Curriculum within Geography to ensure an outstanding quality of provision for all learners.
  • Ensure disadvantaged and SEND students achieve as highly as their peers in Geography.
  • Maximise progress and achievement through monitoring, intervention and review in Geography and Travel and Tourism.
  • Implement Y11 and Y13 intervention programs including the Academy provision on evenings and holidays.
  • Work with staff within the Geography faculty to develop their potential and progression within Waltham Toll Bar Academy.
  • Be able to teach Geography and GCSE and A-Level.
  • Make a full contribution to the wider personal development of our students at Waltham Toll Bar Academy.
