What skills and experience we're looking for
- To be a graduate and either possess a science degree or degree in another relevant subject
- To have a sound and developing knowledge of the subject area and be willing to teach across the age and ability range.
- A genuine passion for teaching science, specifically Health and Social Care.
- The ability to be an outstanding science teacher.
- To be aware of the particular needs of teaching in an all Girls’ school.
- To be able to set and maintain high expectations of work and behaviour.
- To have some understanding of Equal Opportunities issues and a determination to apply the school’s Equal Opportunities Policy in all aspects of work as a professional.
- To be able a competent user of ICT in the delivery of lessons, recording and analysis of data and provision on online learning.
- To help develop the work and ethos appropriate to the school.

Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls are looking to appoint an exceptional Head of Health and Social Care/Science Teacher who has a dynamic and inspirational approach to teaching. An individual that will become an integral part of the department, who will support the department in achieving its ambitious targets and goals. We would like a teacher who believes in collaboration both for students and when working with colleagues. The ideal candidate will be expected to contribute to extra-curricular activities within the department.
