Head of Health, Safety and Environment

We are looking to recruit a full time experienced leader, with a proven track record of delivering a comprehensive health, safety and environmental provision successfully, to lead and develop the strategic direction of health, safety and environmental management and support for the Trust. The role would suit someone who has at least three years post-professional qualification experience and is looking for a new and stimulating opportunity to play a leading role in the future direction of the Trust.

As Head of Health, Safety and Environment you will be leading a small professional team to maintain and enhance the provision of health, safety and environmental services across the Trust. You will undertake a range of leadership, management, and professional work including strategic direction, systems and process management, direct support and advice, as well as workstream allocation and line management. You will run your own department, as well as support and plan your share of the workload and priorities. Administration support is provided.

For this role, you will:

Possess a relevant Occupational Health or Health and Safety qualification. NEBOSH Diploma or Degree and hold membership of an appropriate professional body.

Have at least 3 years post-professional qualification experience in a health, safety and environmental related role.

Have excellent communication skills and be comfortable interacting with people at all levels.

Hold a full UK driving licence and have the use of a vehicle for business use.

Experience of working in the education sector is desirable, but not essential.
